Creating a viral message can be done accidentally or on purpose. But the goal is to give a message ” Effortless Transfer from person to person”

The Super bowl is coming up and will air on NBC on Feb 5th , and its not so much that I care about the game, or the teams involved, but more so that I am more so drawn to the commercials. Like a lot of people if I do watch the superbowl, the commercials are the only thing I’m interested in seeing. IN fact approximately 15.7% or around 16 million people who watch do so for the commercials alone.
This year a 30 second spot cost $3.5-4 million ( up from $ 3 million in 2010 ) depending on when during the superbowl they are aired. All of the Superbowl spots have been sold out for months with only a few pre- game show spots left.
For the companies that purchase spots its very complicated to determine the return on their investment as larger more well known companies like Pepsi for instance are going to benefit for much longer time span and even more than a smaller lesser known company. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it in the long run. Part of the appeal of a super bowl commercial isn’t just about airing during the superbowl and being seen by 100+ million people.
Another big plus that leads to a big return is that these commercials are also getting attention on the internet and being talked about online for weeks before and after the superbowl. Commercials can go viral online and multiply the already millions that have seen it. In fact buying one 30o second ad in the superbowl is like buying 250 commercials on any other day which can cost about $9 million, so even though 3.5 + million might seen astronomical for 30 seconds its actually quite the bargain. When you look at the reach and the exposure is involved.

Whether you love them hate them or just don’t care Kris Jenner and her family know a thing or two about using the media to create free advertising and business opportunities. While not everyone can use their popularity to create a snowball of business opportunities you can use some of the same principles to make money online.
Become Familiar. No matter what the business, you have to put yourself out there in order to get clients back in return. This seems like a gimme’ but in reality putting yourself out there means something a little bit differently that is may have 10 years or even 2 years ago, especially in terms of how fast things change online . At minimum you have to have a website, you should (most of the time) also have a facebook, twitter, linked in and Mechant Circle. Also keep in mind there are tons of other sites that let you advertise your business for free. Make sure you are there too. Also keep up with things like Angie’s list where your customers can leave reviews and make recommendations on your business. A big part of social networking is building, and keeping a relationship going
Maintenance. While I don’t necessarily mean going to the Gym or Kris Jenner getting plastic surgery before Kim’s most recent televised wedding, the kind of maintenance I mean is they consistently keep themselves in the public eye with what is going on in their family. Whether you care or not they have made a living out of their everyday lives. From your own personnel business stand point it is important to make sure that not only do you set your business up on these sites, but you must also keep regular maintenance on them as well. Check in, accept requests, make posts and updates about what’s going on with your company, and let your followers and friends know about sales and deals that you have online or in store and make sure that you are providing them with something of value not just a sales pitch.
Know your audience Kardashian’s aren’t just selling perfume or clothing at Sears. They are using their notoriety to sell perfume and clothing at Sears and they are capitalizing on that. Become familiar with your Clientele and what they are interested in Make sure you advertise where they are and make your product or service accessible to them.

With all the new and interesting ways to advertise these days , it’s very easy to forget that some tried and true are just as effective if not more effective as newer methods. A press release for instance is often over looked. If you need to get the word out about something? Or create a Buzz about your business? A press release is a great and inexpensive way to spread the word, or build a name or reputation online.
A press release is the, who , what when , and why of a news worthy piece of information. Once the press release is written it is distributed over the internet and therefore creating a buzz about the company throughout the search engines . The more prevalent you are online, or to put it another way the more popular you seem , the higher your website can rank on the search engine Doing multiple press releases is a great way to increase your ranking on the search engines as well as begin to “put out fires” of some negative feedback you may have received. Press releases can also be picked up or submitted to your local paper this is a great way to let the surrounding area know about trade shows you may be going to, interesting client success stories or participation in a community event or charity.
The overall goal of a press release is to talk about all of exciting things that are going on in your company. Point blank it allows you to choose what aspects of your business you want people to be excited about. Did you donate funds to a good cause? Awesome! Were there sales or profit increases in the past few months? Great ! Maybe your company just released a new product or has given out promotions these are all good ways to release positive information into the community and online. Writing a press release about any or all of these things, is a great way to create a POSITIVE buzz about the happenings in your company.

Every October is Breast Cancer awareness month. We see Pink everywhere on almost every product, from yogurt tops to the socks of pro-football players on the field. While not nearly the only type of cancer, it is definitely the most publicized form of cancer that there is. But does Publicity cure? Hardly.
Many companies also donate “ portions” of the proceeds of the sales of those products to bring more awareness to breast cancer. “Every year, people spend millions of dollars on items with pink ribbons on them – all because consumers have been led to believe that their purchases will help end the breast cancer epidemic. This is not necessarily the case. Companies know that aligning themselves with “breast cancer awareness” will improve the public’s perception of them and increase their profits. Often, people think, “between a regular product and one that has a pink ribbon on it, I’ll choose the pink ribbon product so at least some of my purchase goes to breast cancer research”. (http://thinkbeforeyoupink.org/?page_id=36) Other products that donate to the cause also help to prolong the problem, for instance Yoplait that has the “pink lid campaign” uses milk that includes the hormone rBGH. “rBGH is an artificial hormone given to cows to make them produce more milk. It’s been linked to breast cancer and other health problems.” http://thinkbeforeyoupink.org/?page_id=2 We have seen over the years how much Awareness there is about breast cancer, and each year the number of Pink products seems to expand on the shelves. In many cases the women who have breast cancer would rather see more work done to bring about a cure vs bringing more awareness. “Awareness’ does very little to bring about a cure, My first year after ( my ) diagnosis; everything I owned, everything I wore, was covered in pink ribbons, including my car. I was on a mission to save every other woman like me blindsided by this crippling, deforming life altering killer disease. If it was pink I bought it! A walk, a run I supported it! I soon learned The Pink Ribbon does not always mean HELP, SUPPORT, RESEARCH, it in fact mostly means BREAST CANCER AWARENESS.” (Quote provided by a 5 yr survivor/fighter of breast cancer Cathi Helm)
In order to bring a true sense of awareness to where your funds are actually going when you buy pink to support breast cancer awareness. Keep in mind that there are some key things to make sure of before buying for the sake of the cause. Check out the website “ Thinkbeforeyoupink.org as it has a great list of questions you can ask before you decide on what Pink products to purchase. Because in any case showing your support is great for helping any cause but it’s almost always better when you are informed.

Just a few episodes into the season Ashton Kutcher has already irked the executives at CBS, and while it may be a little bit premature to say this it leaves me wondering if maybe CBS is going to end up missing the antics of Charlie Sheen more than they can tolerate being “punked” by Kutcher.
In a recent episode of Two and Half Men Kutcher conveniently displayed some stickers for some companies that he has “Invested Interest” in. This comes only a few weeks after Kutcher nearly got himself in some hot water over his promotions in the September issue of Details magazine of which he was the guest editor. In this circumstance because Kutcher failed to disclose that he had invested in the companies that he was promoting in the September issue of Details, he nearly got himself in trouble with the Federal Trade Commission as well as the security Exchange commission.
Where as the issue with the laptop is concerned CBS has chosen to ban his laptop from future episodes. Kutcher claimed ” he didn’t know why” I may not be anyone special and I certainly don’t claim to be the smartest person in the world but I happen to find that really hard to believe.. Really Ashton? You didn’t know that shameless promotion of companies and or their products with out going through the appropriate channels could tick people off? I don’t know about anyone else, but I just happen to find that a little bit hard to believe.
On the other side of things I will also note that hey, he got away with it, with hardly so much as a slap on the wrist, so in many cases kudos to him for out smarting the system yet again; and as for the the companies that Kutcher Promoted they couldn’t be happier, they got a few moments in the lime light free of charge.

Business and advertising have gone hand in hand since their existance began. Since that time Advertisers have been in hot persuit to make their advertising a simple and dependable process creating a reliable revenue stream for their business. While this has always been a ligitimate request, it has been very hard for this request to have actually been met. Advertising venues have always been quick to drive the cost to advertise higher and higher, caring less and less about the advertisers bottom line, or pocket.
The prescence of the internet brought along a whole new world for advertisers t0o explore. Google Ad Words became one of the first true venues where a advertiser could pay for the response they were actually getting versus paying for a venue they hoped brought them back the expected return. Traditional forms of media who were hit hard during the recent economic depression have become to realize that if they don’t keep with the times, then they may not survive much longer.
Advertisers are refususing to pay for any venue that can’t compete with their expected ROI. Traditional forms of media and advertising tried to hold their ground but in the end had to jump on the band wagon or crumble and disapear. Radio and especially print, which many have said would die out, are now again promising heavy hitters.
People still listen to the radio in asstonishingly high numbers and with the advent of Pay per Inquiry it now serves as a more profitable forum for advertisers. Newspapers on the other hand having also transitioned their pages to having online versions of themselves, have created a way to stay in the game. By placing an ad in the paper not only do a majority of newspapers places your ad in the online edition aswell, but what many pepple have yet to learn is that a small classified ad can also help your Organic ranking aswell! Anyone with a website knows , or needs to know, that increasing your online visability relies on quite afew different factors, but in the end every little bit helps, and there is no point snubbing something thats going to give you a very cost effective wqay to increase your ranking.
Looking for a Pay per inquiry campaign for print or radio ? Seo? Webdesign?
